Who we are
This website, perrymotors.ie, is run by Perry Motors Ltd, Old Dublin Road, Athy, Co. Kildare R14 WR96. We are the data controller for any personal information you give us through it. If you have a question about your information, call us on (059) 863 1095, email perrys@indigo.ie, or write to us at the address above.
What we collect
We only collect what you choose to send us. If you use the “Send us a message” form on our Contact page, we receive your name, email address, phone number (if you give it) and your message. Please don’t include bank, card or other sensitive details in the form.
Like every website, our web server automatically records basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you looked at. We use this only to keep the site running securely and to deal with faults or misuse.
How we use it
We use your enquiry details to reply to you and to deal with whatever you asked about, for example a car, van, tyres or servicing. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering enquiries, or taking steps you have asked for before entering into a contract with us. We don’t use your details for marketing, and we never sell or share them with other businesses for their own use.
Who handles it for us
A small number of service providers process information on our behalf, under contract and only on our instructions:
- Irish Web Services, who built and look after this website.
- Hetzner Online GmbH, who host the website on servers in the EU (Finland).
- Our email providers, through whom enquiries from the form are sent to our inbox.
Third-party content on this site
Some pages load content from other companies. When they do, your browser connects directly to that company, which receives your IP address and may set its own cookies:
- Google Maps on our Contact page shows where to find us (see Google’s privacy policy).
- Google Fonts supplies the typeface used on the site.
- DoneDeal supplies the photos of the cars and vans in our stock listings, and those listings link to DoneDeal (see DoneDeal’s privacy policy).
We also link to our Facebook, DoneDeal and CarsIreland pages. Those sites have their own privacy policies.
Cookies
Our own website does not set cookies for visitors and doesn’t use analytics or advertising trackers. The only cookies you may receive come from the third-party content listed above, such as the Google map.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry emails only as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and any sale or work that follows, after which they are deleted. Our website’s copy of outgoing form emails is deleted automatically after 14 days. Server logs are kept for a short period for security and then deleted.
Your rights
Under data protection law (the GDPR) you can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, delete it or stop using it. You can also object to how we use it. To do any of this, contact us using the details above and we’ll respond within one month.
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll update it on this page and change the date at the top.
